Nestera Lodge Medium: Plastic chicken coop for 9 chickens

A good night's rest and hygiene for your chickens start with a coop that lasts a long time, requires little maintenance, and prevents red mites. The Nestera Plastic Chicken Coop Lodge Medium is specifically designed for up to 9 chickens and combines comfort, durability, and convenience. Made from recycled plastic, this coop offers a future-proof solution that benefits both your garden and your chickens.

When you search online for a new chicken coop, you'll find many offers. A frequently searched term is "chicken coop marketplace," but quality and warranty are crucial. Nestera is sold through reliable suppliers like Kippenpakket.nl, where you not only choose sustainability but also clear warranty and service. Furthermore, a plastic coop offers a pleasant contrast to wooden variants: less maintenance, fewer mold and rot problems, and easy to clean.

Buyers who prioritize sustainability often choose a plastic chicken coop. The Nestera Lodge Medium is made from recycled plastic, is UV-resistant, and colorfast. The result is an environmentally friendly housing that provides your chickens with a comfortable place to sleep and lay eggs for years. Additionally, you receive a 25-year warranty on this product, offering long-term peace of mind.

For those who also consider accessibility, it's good to know that this coop features an easy assembly and maintenance system. The combination of space, ventilation, and insulation ensures a pleasant temperature in summer and the retention of moisture-free air in winter. If you're hesitant about purchasing, also consider the option of a chicken run; free-range access during the day combined with a sturdy night coop offers the best balance between welfare and safety.

Space, ventilation, and anti-red mite design

The Lodge Medium offers ample space for chickens to move freely at night. The room dimensions (including nest box and ramp) are 98.8 x 135.9 x 100 cm, with a sleeping area of 59 x 80 cm and a height from the ground of 22.5 cm. An adjustable ventilation grille ensures fresh air and helps with temperature control and moisture balance – crucial for preventing diseases that thrive in damp conditions. The thick plastic material acts as insulation against extreme temperatures in summer and winter.

A striking and unique feature is the anti-red mite design. The coop is designed so that red mites have virtually no chance, contributing to the welfare and health of the chickens. Moreover, the perches (2 pieces of 59 cm) are easily removable for easy cleaning and regular parasite checks.

Nest boxes and perches

The Nestera Lodge Medium is equipped with two nest boxes, each measuring 28 x 30 cm. This provides ample resting space for egg-laying hens in peace. The two perches are easily removable, simplifying cleaning and inspection for red mites. These practical details contribute to a hygienic and user-friendly environment for your poultry.

Living conditions and ease of maintenance

The Nestera chicken coop is designed with welfare in mind: ample sleeping space, a comfortable laying area, and an environment that is easy to keep clean. As many chicken enthusiasts know, a good night's rest is crucial for health and productivity. Free-range access during the day is definitely recommended so that the chickens can forage and get vitamin D outdoors.

Ease of maintenance is a top priority for this product. The plastic material is maintenance-free; no painting is required, and its colorfastness ensures the coop stays looking new for years.

Cleaning is easy: simply hose it down with water and occasionally clean with eucalyptus cleaner. It dries quickly, regardless of the season. Thanks to its maintenance-free construction, this coop is ideal for busy households where time is scarce.

Material and durability

Recycled plastic forms the basis of the Nestera Lodge Medium. This material is not only environmentally friendly but also UV-resistant, preventing discoloration and brittleness. The combination of a sturdy outer shell and optimized ventilation ensures stable humidity and a comfortable living environment for chickens throughout the year. The 25-year warranty offers additional peace of mind, allowing you to rely on this coop for many years.

Buying and practical considerations

When choosing a chicken coop, it's also useful to consider a suitable spot in the garden and the availability of an outdoor run. The Nestera Lodge Medium is ideal if you are looking for a compact, low-maintenance solution that still provides enough space for a group of up to nine chickens. Please note that chickens need (free) range; this coop is primarily intended as a night coop and laying area, with the run as an extension for daytime use.

When searching for chicken coops online, you might come across discussions about "chicken coop marketplace." While the offerings can be extensive, Nestera, through Kippenpakket.nl, offers reliable quality, clear warranty, and fast delivery. Some buyers also look for other suppliers such as Aveve; however, Nestera chicken coops are offered through specialized stores, which benefits warranty and service. An additional advantage is free shipping when purchasing through this supplier, which keeps the total price attractive.

Delivery, installation, and extra options

Most Nestera chicken coops are delivered within 3 to 15 business days and benefit from free shipping. For those looking for extras, options such as a droppings tray and an automatic door opener are available. If you order multiple products in one go, they will be shipped in separate boxes, and you will receive a track-and-trace code for each package. This way, you always know exactly when your Nestera chicken coop will arrive.

Application and group composition

The Nestera Lodge Medium accommodates various chicken breeds. The manual indicates that the coop is suitable for 9 bantams, 5 laying hens, or 3 larger breeds, provided there is sufficient free-range space. This makes the coop flexible for different garden and poultry situations. If you want to manage the group even better, combine the night coop with a sturdy, predator-proof run for daytime use.

Why Nestera? Summary of benefits

In summary, the Lodge Medium offers: spacious sleeping quarters, adjustable ventilation for optimal temperature and humidity, two nest boxes for peaceful egg-laying, and cutouts that facilitate cleaning. The anti-red mite design and maintenance-free plastic make this coop a long-term solution for chickens who value hygiene and comfort.
