  • Maximum egg production — 15.3% protein and essential amino acids for consistent laying and strong eggshells
  • Homogeneous composition — each pellet contains the same nutrients, so no selective eating
  • Suitable for all breeds — the pellet size is pleasant to eat, from small Seramas to larger Brahmas

Composition & analysis

Analytical constituent Per kg
Crude protein 15.3%
Crude fat 5.3%
Crude fiber 4.1%
Crude ash 14.4%

Supplemented with vitamins A, D3, E, K and B-complex, and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and sodium.

Who is this suitable for?

Suitable for all chicken breeds, especially laying hens during their peak laying period.

Tip: choose one main feed. Chickens that have become accustomed to Complete Feed often don't like to go back to laying pellets. Therefore, it's better not to switch back and forth between the two, but choose one fixed feed and give a fixed amount daily — count on approximately number of chickens × 165 grams in normal periods, increasing to 200–250 grams during severe frost (below 15°C). With the "empty feeder method" (only refilling the feeder when it's truly empty, and temporarily no extra snacks) you prevent chickens from becoming picky eaters. If you doubt whether your chickens are getting enough this way, consider temporarily adding multivitamins to their drinking water.

Usage & dosage

Pour the pellets into a feed silo or treadle feeder and you're done. Give a fixed daily amount (see tip above) and always ensure fresh drinking water.

Additional advice from our chicken experts

Do you want to spoil your chickens occasionally? Choose a moment when the feeder is already empty, and check out our range of natural chicken snacks — this way the main feed remains dominant and you prevent chickens from becoming picky eaters.

Frequently asked questions

Can I alternate between Laying pellets and Complete Feed?

You can, but chickens that have become accustomed to Complete Feed often don't like to go back to laying pellets. Therefore, it's better to choose one fixed main feed instead of constantly switching.

How much Laying pellets should I give my chickens per day?

Count on approximately number of chickens × 165 grams in normal periods, increasing to 200-250 grams during severe frost (below 15°C).

My chicken prefers not to eat the laying pellets, what now?

Some chickens prefer to forage freely in the garden. In that case, mix the laying pellets with some grain in the feeder; that works well for many chicken keepers.

Are Laying pellets suitable for small chicken breeds such as Seramas?

Yes, the pellet size is suitable for both small and large chicken breeds.

What is the "empty feeder method" and why is it useful?

Calculate the correct amount of feed and let the feeder become completely empty each time before refilling. This prevents chickens from becoming picky eaters and wasting food.

What else is in Laying pellets besides protein?

In addition to 15.3% protein, it contains vitamins A, D3, E, K and B-complex, and minerals such as calcium, phosphorus and sodium.
