What makes the Pikpot so special?
Boredom, stress, and lack of activity are common causes of feather and egg pecking. The Pikpot offers a healthy, natural distraction:
- Prevents problematic behavior — a healthy outlet against feather and egg pecking
- 100% natural ingredients — safe for daily use
- Long-lasting entertainment — keeps chickens actively engaged, reducing stress
- Also contains grit and shells — additionally supports digestion
Why do chickens peck each other or their eggs?
Boredom is a common cause, but certainly not the only one. For persistent pecking behavior, also consider: too little space per chicken, a protein or mineral deficiency in the feed, too bright light in the coop, or pests like red mites. The Pikpot addresses boredom but won't automatically solve a deeper underlying cause.

Perfect for these situations
For boredom
The Pikpot provides activity, making chickens less likely to peck out of boredom.
During winter
When chickens spend less time outdoors, the Pikpot keeps them actively engaged.
For new groups
Helps reduce stress and promotes calm when integrating chickens into a new run.
Usage
Hang or place the Pikpot at your chickens' eye level, in the coop or run. Replace it as soon as it's empty. For best results, combine the Pikpot with other distractions, such as elevated vegetables or fruit, alfalfa snippets, or filled play balls — a combination of different types of enrichment often works better than a single method.
First aid for pecking wounds: what to do for feather pecking
If a wound occurs despite the Pikpot, follow these steps:
- Step 1 — Clean and treat the wound: use Vulnos Wound Blue Spray (blue, visible) or the Transparent Wound Spray 200ml (colorless, invisible on feathers) to keep the area clean and protected.
- Step 2 — Discourage recurrence: once the wound spray has dried, spray the Anti-Feather Pecking Spray with Deer Horn Oil on and around the wound. The smell and taste discourage chickens from pecking further.
What if pecking behavior persists or is severe? Do you see blood or open wounds from pecking? Temporarily remove the affected chicken — blood attracts additional pecking behavior. For deep, heavily bleeding, infected, or persistent wounds: always consult a veterinarian or poultry specialist, also to rule out underlying causes such as pests or a nutritional deficiency.
Additional advice from our chicken experts
Also provide sufficient Pikmix or chicken grit and Oyster Grit. A protein-rich diet with Krachtmix or Nutri Worms can also help reduce nutrition-related pecking behavior.

Frequently asked questions
Why are my chickens pecking each other's feathers or eggs?
Often due to boredom, stress, or lack of activity. Other possible causes include too little space, a protein or mineral deficiency, too bright light, or pests like red mites.
How do I use the Pikpot?
Hang or place the pot at your chickens' eye level in the coop or run. Replace it as soon as it's empty for continuous effect.
Is the Pikpot suitable for all chicken breeds?
Yes, suitable for all chicken breeds and flock sizes, and also useful when integrating new groups of chickens.
Will the Pikpot solve all my pecking problems?
The Pikpot addresses boredom, a common cause of pecking behavior. If pecking behavior persists, also consider space, nutrition, and pests, and combine the Pikpot with other enrichment such as play balls or elevated vegetables.
What do I do if a chicken is bleeding from pecking?
Temporarily remove the injured chicken, as blood attracts additional pecking behavior. Treat the wound with Vulnos Wound Blue Spray or the Transparent Wound Spray, then use the Anti-Feather Pecking Spray with Deer Horn Oil to discourage recurrence. Always consult a veterinarian or poultry specialist for persistent or severe pecking behavior.
Which wound spray should I choose: Vulnos Blue Spray or the Transparent Wound Spray?
Both clean and protect the skin in a similar way. Vulnos Blue Spray colors blue, so you can see exactly where you've sprayed — useful for larger groups. The Transparent Wound Spray leaves no color on the feathers, which is good if you prefer no visible stains.
Can I combine the Pikpot with other chicken feed or snacks?
Certainly, the Pikpot is a supplement to Complete Feed and combines well with protein-rich snacks such as Krachtmix or Nutri Worms.
